Traditional Japanese Reiki with Heart

The Five Pillars

At Heart Filled Reiki we teach and practice Reiki from a Japanese perspective as a spiritual art form using five pillars. The pillars consist of developing spiritual and mental focus through the Reiki precepts, meditations, hands on healing, mantras and symbols and Reiju/Initiations.Each element supports the other, filling in the gaps that will exist for different practitioners. No two people have the same needs when learning. For this reason working with all five elements gives each practitioner a greater chance of success. Together these elements create a whole that is firm yet flexible, supporting practitioners on their individual spiritual paths.

Reiki precepts

A precept is a code of practice, an instruction to help one live a more fulfilled life. They are an oak tree of wisdom packed into a tiny acorn.

The secret of inviting happiness through many blessings. The spiritual medicine for all illness,
For Today Only:
Do not Anger
Do not Worry
Be Humble and Grateful
Be dilligent in your Practice
Be Kind to Yourself and Others

hands on healing

The practitioner places hands on or just off the body to allow Ki (life force energy) to clear stagnant energy. Once the body senses the Ki, it takes it where it needs and wants it. We use the term "practitioner" instead of "healer" because it is not the practitioner doing the healing, but the universal Ki flowing where it needs to. Every body has it's own intuitive ability to heal itself. Reiki puts you in touch with that innate healing ability.

meditations and techniques

There are three foundational techniques taught in reiki. Practitioners practice a cleansing technique (Kenyoku Hô), a breathing meditation (Jôshin Kokyû Hô) and meditation to unify the mind (Seishin Toitsu). These practices are added to and expanded upon with each level of Reiki class.

symbols and mantras

The jumon (mantras) and shirushi (symbols), are used to awaken an inner dormant energy. As one grows in their personal practice, the actual need for these tools diminishes and their energies are called upon without effort.

reiju and attunements

Reiju (spiritual blessing) and attunements or initiations are rituals that differientiate Reiki from other healing modalites. The ability to do Reiki is passed like a gift between master and student during the initiation ceremony. The intention is that the student will remember his or her own connection to the universe.
